ShareTrip Introduces “Refund Guard” for Secure and Flexible Travel Bookings

  • Medical Emergencies: Sudden illness or injury that requires hospitalisation or rest, certified by a medical professional.
  • Bereavement: Sudden passing of an immediate family member.
  • Legal Obligations: Summons to court or jury duty.
  • Unexpected Work Commitments: Urgent business trips or employment-related obligations requiring a change in travel plans, certified by the employer.
  • Flight-Related Issues: Sudden changes such as flight cancellations due to airline-related problems (only applicable if the airline does not offer any form of compensation).
  • Pre-existing Conditions: Illnesses or medical conditions that existed before the booking was made.
  • Self-Inflicted Injuries: Injuries or illness caused by reckless or intentional actions.
  • Political or Governmental Issues: Cancellations due to government actions, protests, or political unrest, unless explicitly covered by the airline.
  • Voluntary Cancellations: If a traveller decides to cancel their trip without a valid reason.
  • Natural Disasters: Force majeure events such as earthquakes, floods, or other natural calamities that are outside of the control of the service provider.
  1. Opt-in During Booking: Travellers can add Refund Guard for a nominal fee at the time of booking their flight on ShareTrip.
  2. File a Claim: In case of a valid cancellation event, the traveller must initiate a claim within fifteen (15) days of the incident. Claims can be submitted through Bimay’s app or website by providing necessary documentation such as medical reports, employer’s letters, or legal documents, etc.
  3. Refund Processing: After the documentation is verified, Bimafy will process the refund, reimbursing within thirty (30) working days.
